ABOUT “TRAVERTINE RIDGE”
1998
I was exhibiting
at Ron Breeden's gallery in Orange when Ron introduced me to Don Cribb. I had previously made a small bronze maquette that
I showed Don, who then showed it to the people developing the shopping center, and thru a series of interesting events became
the the large piece.
This piece was my first collaborative work, involving the developer, visits to several stone
quarries, a geologist, engineering, city planners, concrete fabricators, a large crane, and Chiarini Marble and Stone.
